Drug Pricing Reform in Motion: What You Need to Know Now

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) became law in August of 2022 and included a number of provisions that will significantly impact the pharmaceutical environment. Esmé and David will hold a discussion to take a deep dive into what the IRA’s changes are, the timeline of its effects, and how it will all impact pharmacies and particularly long-term care pharmacies.

• Identify the changes that the Inflation Reduction Act created in the law as well as the government’s plan to address future drug pricing for a specific set of drugs
• Explain how these changes will impact LTC pharmacies, what to look for in the future as the law goes into effect, and the general timeline of implementation
• Outline what pharmacies are doing now to prepare for changes and how to advocate through our associations to empower pharmacies in implementation of the new rules
