PharMerica Partners with the Association for Medication Education (AME) to Expand LTC Educational Opportunities

November 8, 2023

PharMerica, a large-scale US pharmacy company, and AME, a leading provider of education for consultant pharmacists, pharmacists, nurses, and nursing home administrators, have teamed up with a common goal of expanding education to the long-term care community to positively impact resident care.

Through this partnership, the two organizations will collaborate on educational offerings featuring their own internal experts as well as other long-term care professionals. The programs will all be submitted for approval of CMEs for pharmacists and CEs for nursing staff and administrators to help them maintain their licensing requirements while staying up to date on the latest topics in the industry.

“We’re excited to work with AME to expand learning opportunities for our long-term care partners and beyond,” said Rebecca Wingate, Vice President of Clinical Operations, PharMerica. “Together, we aim to increase attendees’ knowledge of medication management and equip them with best practices to help navigate some of the biggest challenges they face today.”

The online courses will be available through PharMerica’s Illuminate education and thought leadership platform and/or through AME’s site (medicationeducation.org).

“Our vision has always been to educate as many learners as possible in the long-term care community, and this partnership increases our ability to do just that,” said Lisa Starnes, Executive Director for AME. “We see this as the logical next step in the growth of platform and hope that by joining forces, we can become the go-to educational resource on the appropriate use of medications for long-term care providers everywhere.”

Upcoming webinars can be found on medicationeducation.org and PharMerica.com/Illuminate.
