The P.D.P.M. payment system for Part A Medicare claims requires significant coding, documentation and functional scoring from the MDS 3.0 data base. This session will review the changes in coding directions, items impacting payment calculations and the structure of the MDS documents. The P.D.P.M. payment system uses a large number of items of the MDS 3.0 that have not impacted payment rates in the past. This new complex payment process requires all IDT members to understand the directions, definitions, and coding instructions in the RAI manual.
The payment system utilizes a large number of MDS data items that will be the focus of this training. This session will help all operational and clinical professionals have a better understanding of the documentation required to achieve accuracy and proper payment levels. We will review the changes in coding directions, items impacting payment calculations and the structure of the MDS documents. A must do session for operational and clinical professionals as well as MDS managers.
