This interactive session will focus on specific strategies operational and clinical managers can utilize to prepare facility teams for the conversion to the new database process. Staff training and awareness of the significant internal policy changes will be discussed. Documentation system changes, format, and policies will need to be established and integrated into practice. This session will lead the operational and clinical team through the steps necessary to produce a positive organized conversion to the new MDS 1.18.11 data base on October 1, 2023.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify proactive strategies for staff training to prepare for database changes on October 1, 2023
• Review necessary changes to data formulation policies and medical record documentation
• Discuss the impact the database changes will have on quality measures, public data reporting, and payment systems
