Date: Tuesday, September 19, 2023
Time: 1:00PM ET
Assisted living communities are a long-term care option preferred by many individuals who need help with everyday activities and healthcare services but typically do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care services. States establish and enforce licensing and certification requirements for assisted living communities as well as requirements for their administrators and executive directors. Federal laws and regulations also apply to assisted living communities. Understanding legal and regulatory compliance around transitions in care, such as
admission, transfer, and discharge, will reduce the risk of grievances and lawsuits and improve quality of care.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the legal and regulatory framework that applies to transitions in care
- Develop policies and best practices to support a culture of compliance and person-centered care
- Implement an enterprise risk management plan related to legal and regulatory compliance
