In the life of a DON, survey ranks fairly high on the anxiety meter. To avoid that level of anxiety, knowing the rules and regulations is critical.
Join us to become acquainted with, or refresh your knowledge of, the State Operations Manual (SOM), the survey process and how to use the Critical Element Pathways. Being prepared for survey is essential to ensure your resident care is meeting the federal standards.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe what is in the State Operations Manual (SOM).
2. Name 3 steps in the survey process.
3. Identify 2 ways to use the Critical Element pathways.
